Student Life

At Cambridge School we believe in providing children with a comprehensive school experience that goes beyond the classroom. We offer a dynamic visual and performing arts program, a well-established competitive sports program, a variety of extracurricular clubs, and more.

Arts

Cambridge School offers a comprehensive arts program that includes performing arts, visual arts, instrumental music, and movement. Our arts program maximizes the creative and empathic qualities of the “right-brain” learners who dominate the classrooms at Cambridge. Our students have minds for designing, inventing, storytelling, and dramatic flair. The program also takes into consideration the latest research on learning through multiple intelligences and brain-based learning.

Performing Arts (concerts & musicals)
Visual Arts (Cambridge art show, museum/gallery visits, & stage crew for musicals)
Instrumental Music (handbell choir & Princeton Symphony Orchestra (PSO) BRAVO program)

Physical Education & Athletics

At Cambridge School, we believe in providing students with a comprehensive educational experience that goes beyond the classroom. Physical education and athletics allow students to:

Build general motor skills and kinesthetic awareness through physical activity
Improve executive function skills through processing directions, following instructions, and settings goals
Develop character and sportsmanship by practicing respect, responsibility, fairness, and cooperation

Our physical education curriculum is designed to use drills and games to develop health and fitness, provide opportunities for self-expression, and teach valuable concepts — such as sportsmanship, self-discipline, and leadership.

Clubs

Cambridge School offers a variety of after school clubs, which are run by our fully trained faculty. These after-school activities provide an opportunity for students to explore their interests, develop talents, build confidence, make friends, and feel empowered. Clubs are offered in the fall, winter, and spring. The availability of clubs varies depending on the interest of students. Examples of clubs that have been held in the past include:

Cooking
Debate
Gymnastics
Tennis
Yearbook
Newspaper
Yoga
